This is our video entry to the Xilinx Open Hardware 2017 University Design Contest. We designed a Multi-Effects system for the electric guitar in FPGA, based on the Zedboard. Our project was announced as one of the WINNERS in the Student Category! The intro music was recorded with the Delay effect in one of its IIR modes. All of the photos are measurements from the oscilloscope, for each of the effects. Open-Source Tools for FPGA Development - Marek Vašut, DENX Software Engineering Programmable hardware is becoming increasingly popular in the recent years, yet the software tools for working with such programmable hardware are dominated by closed-source proprietary solutions. This is now changing. In this presentation, Marek will summarize the open-source tools for working with programmable hardware, like "icestorm", "vtr", "ghdl" and "iverilog". Marek will show how to use the open-source tools to produce a working design and explain the benefits and limitations of such solutions. At the end of the talk, Marek will outline the process of implementing such tools to demonstrate why this is so much effort. About Marek Vašut I have been contracting for DENX Software Engineering for a couple of years now. My primary responsibility is designing and implementing customer specific functionality. One important aspect of my work is leveraging the benefits of working inside the mainline Linux, U-Boot and Yocto projects, explaining our customers the benefits of pushing the newly produced code back into mainline and effectively doing the contributions. I am therefore heavily involved with both mainline U-Boot and Linux kernel, be it my role as USB maintainer for U-Boot or others. My speaking experience includes giving talks at ELCE, LinuxCon Japan, EmbeddedWorld and various smaller events across Europe.
